Never uncertain in times of uncertainty

Since God is outside of time and never changes, inasmuch as He created it all, and by Christ, He holds all things together, how can things be “uncertain”?

The other day I received an email from one of our clinical staff telling me abut her clients who seem so shaken in “these times of uncertainty.”

As I was praying about these dear, anxious souls, the Lord impressed upon me that the only ones going through times of uncertainty are those who depend on man or self, and as a way of life, leave God out of the picture.

Looking through the lenses of truth, what do we discover? Take a look …

““For I am the Lord, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed…”  Malachi 3:6

Since God is outside of time and never changes, inasmuch as He created it all, and by Christ, He holds all things together, how can things be “uncertain”?

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8

How did the Lord deal with violent storms overwhelming His chosen men when they thought all was “uncertain” and that they might even drown? Same God, and as the song says so well, “the wind and the waves still obey Him.” So does the “storm” of today’s plagues and pestilence (see Mark chapter 4).

“I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my [a]strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the [b]horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.”  Psalm 18:1-3

Does it sound to you like the God Who adores you is trying to tell you something? He is. Who is REALLY in control? Man…doctors…governments…medical researchers…the economy? Re-read those powerful promises to you and see what your takeaways are.

“Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation [victory].
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; yoI shall not be greatly moved [shaken].

How long will you attack a man?
You shall be slain, all of you,
Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
They only consult to cast him down from his high position;
They delight in lies;
They bless with their mouth,
But they curse inwardly. Selah

My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my [c]expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be [d]moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.

Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.  Psalm 62:1-8

“Salvation” for a believer doesn’t mean “Jesus died for my sins, I’m forgiven, and when I die I go to heaven.” Oh no. Even though those things are true for a new believer just coming into a “new creation” relationship with Christ, it means VICTORY.

Read it again, but this time, listen to Him speaking into your heart, but read verse 8 first, then 5 and 6. What do you discover? In the midst of all the nutso madness the whole world is living through now, what should you expectations be?
